About Dr. Vasudeva

Dr. Vasudeva is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who grew up in Fulton County and attended Roswell High School. He then completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors and was a member of the prestigious Benjamin Franklin Scholars. He subsequently took a post-graduate fellowship at the National Institutes of Health where he performed laboratory-based research in molecular neurobiology before enrolling in medical school at the Medical College of Georgia on academic scholarship. Dr. Vasudeva graduated from medical school at the top of his class as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed a neurosurgery residency at Harvard Medical School at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. While at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Vasudeva focused on the treatment of brain tumors, complex spinal disease, and neuro-critical care. He also completed a fellowship in complex spinal neurosurgery and instructed neuro-anatomy to Harvard Medical Students. Following completion of his training, he joined the Georgia Brain and Spine Center so that he could use his skills to take care of patients in the community where he is from.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vasudeva has actively engaged in research and has authored dozens of peer reviewed publications and book chapters. He has also given numerous presentations at neurosurgical society meetings.

Dr. Vasudeva has particular expertise in the treatment of complex spinal disorders, including degenerative disc disease, cervical and thoracic disc herniation, lumbar stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and adult spinal deformity. He has extensive training in minimally invasive spine surgery, image guided spine surgery, percutaneous instrumentation, and artificial disc replacement. He also specializes in surgery on primary and metastatic tumors in the brain and spine as well as trauma, stroke, hemorrhages, infections, and hydrocephalus.

In his spare time, Dr. Vasudeva enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and physical fitness.
