At Georgia Brain & Spine Center
A brain tumor is a collection of abnormal cells that form within the brain. These cells divide uncontrollably, causing the tumor to grow and affect the normal brain around it. While many patients assume that a brain tumor means cancer, this isn’t always the case.
Treatment options can vary but in many cases, surgical tumor removal is the most effective plan. Our experienced neurosurgeons Dr. Elias Dagnew and Dr. Michael Hartman use state-of-the-art STEALTH computer image guidance, a GPS-like navigation system for the brain, or radiosurgery using the innovative Cyberknife system.
Georgia Brain & Spine Center has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating brain tumors. In fact, Dr. Dagnew is one of the few neurosurgeons in the country who has completed a fellowship in neurological oncology. He is honored to have trained at the top cancer center in the world, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and values the ability to share this experience and insight with Dr. Hartman as well.
